Visitors need to be up at the crack of dawn for the 7am flight to Lahad Datu by plane. Approximately an hour later we then proceed to Taliwas office to register and collect gate passes. Our departure for the Taliwas forestry centre begins at 9.30am and should take us about 90mins. Upon arrival at 11am we register and check in at the camp site. Lunch will be served at 12pm and there’s a break until 2pm. Visitors will then be presented with an open air slide show presentation on [INSERT NATURE] before going on a 2.5km trek along a nature trail to witness the wonders of the wildlife and engage in breath taking bird watching. We return to the camp site to freshen up before having dinner at 7pm. After dinner visitors will then be brought for a night drive to visually partake of the wonders that are creatures of the night. Day 2
Visitors will be provided with a light breakfast at dawn before settling in for a 2hr bird watching session. We return to base camp at 8am to sit down to a hearty breakfast which will prepare us for our 4km trek to a lowland dipterocarp forest & a river stream. Our appetites will be nicely worked up for lunch at 12pm and a well deserved 2 hour break. Our nature quest in the form of a 3km along a downhill trail to feast on the antics of the resident primates and elephants begins at 2pm and continues till 5pm when we make our way back to base camp. Visitors are then invited for dinner at 7pm to be followed by a calorie burning 30min night walk before staring behind their eyelids. Day 3
Our day begins again with a light breakfast at 5.30am before another bird watching session. We indulge in a substantial breakfast and work out with a little tree planting! After lunch we check out 1pm and make our way down to Lahad Datu which includes a very enjoyable stop at a wet market to enjoy the local produce on offer. We make our way to the airport at 4pm for our return flight to Kota Kinabalu at 5pm.
