Day 1

  • ETA Kota Kinabalu, from Kuala Lumpur flight no This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.(recommended). Guest will be pick-up at the arrival hall gate and proceed to a 35 minutes ride from the airport to a nearby city Hotel
  •  Register & Check -in
  •  Lunch (Korean Restaurant)
  • Depart for UMS ODEC. Upon arrival, refresh yourself with our welcome drink before we start our activity
  • Start 1.5km trekking to ODEC nature trail and encounter your first bird sighting at 155m.a.s.l (endemic species and rare species of White Crown Shama & Ground Cuckoo)
  • Return to base camp and get ready to depart to Gaya Island, The largest island of Tengku Abdul Rahman Park located just 20 minutes away by speed boat from ODEC jetty. The Gaya Island at 140 hectares of area consists of two type of forest; Dry Ever Green Forest & Low Mangrove Forest. The mangrove plants are specially adapted to grow in the mud and brackish water that gives habitation to many species of birds, crab, prawn and fish.
  • Make your way to the Gaya Mangrove Walk(bird sighting)
  • Returned to Gaya jetty and depart for ODEC jetty
  • Dinner
  • After dinner, relax and enjoy the evening breeze

Day 2

  • Depart for Kinabalu National Park, Malaysia first world heritage designated by UNESCO in December 2000, gifted by Mother Nature, The Kinabalu Park covers a total area of 754 sq. km and it is rich with stunning `Plants & Birds` biodiversity. The plants of flora, home to about 1,200 species of Orchids, 26 species of Rhododendrons, 9 species of Nepenthes pitcher plant, over 80 species of fig trees, 60 species of Oak and chestnut trees. The Kinabalu Park is a bird watchers paradise as the forest of the park attracts an amazingly rich diversity of birds with a total 300 species were recorded and other 26 species observed, include the rare and endemic species of borneo due to the abundance of food plants and treasure of insects
  • Upon arrival, All birder`s will register & check in to Kiram`s Village Lodge
  • Lunch at Panataran Restaurant                              
  • After a short briefing, start trekking from Kinabalu National park trail to Botanical Mountain Garden. Along the way, observed and bear in mind `Patience is a Virtue` that you will be rewarded
  • Buckle up, time to make your way down slowly and returned to base
  • Dinner ( BBQ)
  • Rest of the day

Day 3

  • Early light breakfast
  • Self-guided bird watching around the village lodge
  • Full breakfast
  • Check out and depart for Sukau Kinabatangan The formidable Kinabatangan river spans from west to east the longest and largest river in the state winding its entire 560 km long trail. The lower Kinabatangan area comprises of scattered villages amongst agricultural land as well as one of the largest wildlife preserve areas gazetted under the state government. Its floodplain is one of the most exceptional areas because of its five distinct habitats, The waterlogged, dry evergreen forest, saline, freshwater and swamps, limestone forest is estimated to have the most diverse concentrations of wildlife in Borneo.
  • Stop at mile 32 check point for lunch
  • Resume journey to Sukau Kinabatangan
  • Upon arrival at Sukau jetty, boat ride (15 minutes) transfers to Borneo Nature Lodge for registration & check-in to lodge.
  • Get ready for your first afternoon cruise along the mangrove estuary, Menanggol River. And if you are lucky, you may encounter the Giant Frogmouth, a rare species of nocturnal bird somewhere hidden among the trees protecting the nest

Day 4

  • Early breakfast
  • Gear up for your 1st morning cruise to upper Kinabatangan river into the misty ride to estuary Oxbow lake. Observed high up on the tree and you might get a chance to encounter the Ape Man, Orang Utan looking for fig fruit riverine forest. Low down your lences at muddy sand, introducing the Fresh Water Crocodile basking in early morning daylight. Hornbills flying across the high tree branch singing, kingfishers at shallow water hunting for small fish and broadbills making nest.
  • Returned to lodge for full breakfast
  • Put on your lychees sock and start trekking for 1.5km at the sanctuary wetland forest to sight for Black & Crimson Pitta, Rufous Kingfisher and White Crown Shama among the common resident here at Sukau Sanctuary forest
  • Lunch
  • Own activity
  • Proceed for 2nd day afternoon cruise along the Kinabatangan Teniggang  Mangrove Forest Estuary Observed between branches among the trees, the primates endemic to Borneo, Proboscis Monkey and family species Silver Langur. You may also encounter among the red & greenies leaf of Dillenia Excelsa the Yellow Ring Cat Snake and the mighty Recticulated Phyton. Oriental Darters and the Purple Heron is the frequent resident among the calm Water of Teniggang Estuary.

  • Night walk at nearby nature trail
  • Rest of the day

Day 5

  • Breakfast
  • Check out and assemble at jetty platform for immediate transfer by boat to Sukau jetty
  • Depart for Sepilok Jungle Resort, Sandakan
  • Upon arrival, register & check-in
  • Late lunch at Sepilok Cafe
  • Visitation to the Plants Discovery Garden and start 347m long canopy walkway (25m above the ground).Observe life high up the canopy and have a great sighting (300 species of birds are found here)
  • Dinner
  • Start 1km night walk along the rainforest discovery trail offering  a sighting chance for nocturnal wildlife such as Western Tarsiers, Mouse deer, Giant Geckoes, Civet, Stick Insect and Lantern Bug
  • Returned to base
  • Rest the day off

Day 6

  • Early breakfast
  • Self-guided lakeside trail, distance of 0.7km in a looping trail at pavilion lakeside and returned to chalet
  • Full breakfast
  • Visitation to Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre
  • Visitation to Sun Bear Conservation Sepilok
  • Lunch at Jungle Resort
  • Check out and proceed to Sandakan International Airport for your flight return
  • End of Tour
